House Sitting In Te Awamutu

I’ve moved on from Gordonton and my new house sit finds me in suburban Te Awamutu, in a nice modern home located at the end of a cul-de-sac. The house is not far from Pak ‘n’ Save & Mitre 10 (an easy 10-minute walk) but it’s surprisingly (and pleasantly) quiet around here with very little traffic or neighbour noise. I don’t normally go for sits in cities or towns (I prefer the rural locations) but they do make a nice change if you can land a sit in a quieter part of town, and I find they can be handy to fill in any short gaps that may crop up between my longer rural sits.

As soon as I left my sit at Gordonton I was missing those beautiful grapes, so imagine my delight when I found grapes here as well. 🙂 This is nice big vine of white grapes and they’re pretty all much ripe and ready to enjoy. There’re also pears, crab apples, and a good-sized herb garden with plenty of rosemary, thyme, oregano, sage etc to throw into my slow cooker.

The pets on this sit consist of a single Fox Terrier-Bichon cross doggie who goes by the name of Harry. He’s about 8 years of age and he’s a super nice little chap. He’s lots of fun and loves his games and walkies. Harry gets a good 30-40 minute walk around the war memorial park on the other side of town. He was a bit lost when his mum left for her road trip yesterday but after our first day together he’s now good as gold and seems quite happy with his new housemate. All in all, this sit gets big thumbs up from me. I’m liking it a lot.

Harry
