I started a new house sitting job yesterday, and this one is on a lifestyle block in Tamahere, about 10kms south-east of Glenview New World, in Hamilton. This is my first time on this property. It’s a nice big house and section, surrounded by trees but it still gets lots of sunshine. It’s situated in a quiet rural area. The pets I have here to look after are three somewhat shy cats, Georgie, Frankie, and Harry. Mind you, I’ve only been here a day. Another couple days or so and they should be looking for lots of smooches. I’m here for just over three weeks. The home owners have gone to England to visit family and will be back on October 13th.

January 3 2025 at 11:02 AMThree weeks is a nice length of time for a sit. You would’ve have plenty of time to bond with the cats and really settle in. Did you have any other responsibilities on the block?

January 10 2025 at 11:29 AMThere were some indoor plants to water and seedlings in the greenhouse that needed a drink every so often, but the lawns were the main job. It was quite a large section but the owners had a good ride-on mower which did about 90% of it.
