My current house sit sees me back on a repeat property for a fortnight. This is my second visit here and for pretty much the exact same dates as last time. This is a rural home in the Whatawhata district, with a quick 10-minute drive to the shops in Dinsdale, Hamilton. It’s good to be back. This is definitely one of my favourite properties. It’s a really nice modern and spacious home, with a big section and a swimming pool, and I absolutely love the pets here.
House Sitting In Whatawhata – First Visit
There’ve been two additions to their number since my last stay. There’s Cleo (for some reason I keep calling her Chloe) who’s a young short-haired Ragdoll cat and super nice. And there’s Binx, a Burmese kitten who’s a bundle of energy and fun. They’ve both been relaxed and super friendly from day one.
Pepper and Peach seem to have remembered me from last year. Pepper was looking for chase-and-fetch games literally within minutes of my arrival. 🙂 Binx absolutely adores Pepper. He’ll tag along with Pepper and me when we’re outside throwing tennis balls around the section, and then he’ll cuddle up with her for a snooze later in the day.
There has been one subtraction to the pets, and that is Molly the cat who has apparently moved in with one of the neighbours on a permanent basis because it’s a quieter household with no children and no other pets. But hopefully she’ll stop by for a visit while I’m here.

January 5 2026 at 2:00 PMIt’s always a buzz when you go back to a sit and the pets not only recognise you but are happy to see you again, especially when you haven’t seen them for a whike. I’m a sitter and always enjoy going back to favourite sits.
